At a Glance
Pipeline CRM integrates with UpLead through a built-in integration installed from the App Store and authenticated with an UpLead API key pasted into the Token field. It enriches person records, company records or both, writing data into the Pipeline CRM fields you map. Overriding existing values is optional and set separately for people and companies.
Bad data costs more than missing data
An empty field slows a rep down. A wrong one sends them somewhere confidently, which is worse.
Bounces burn the sender reputation
Emailing addresses that no longer exist damages deliverability for every message after it, including the ones to people who would have replied.
Research time is selling time
Looking up a title, a headcount and a direct line takes minutes per record, and it is the first thing dropped when the week gets busy.
Empty fields break your filters
Segments and routing rules built on industry or company size silently skip every record where the field is blank.
Reveal the key, then map
You need admin permissions in Pipeline CRM and an UpLead account with API access. Create any custom fields you want populated before you map, because you cannot point data at a field that does not exist.
Get your API key from UpLead
In your UpLead dashboard open your profile settings and scroll to API Keys, then click Reveal API Key, or Generate New API Key if there is not one yet.
Install it and paste the key
In Pipeline CRM go to Settings, then Other, then App Store, find UpLead and click Install, then open Uplead Service. Paste the key into the UpLead Token field, run Test Connection and save.
Choose what it enriches, then enable it
Pick person fields, company fields or both, map each UpLead field to its Pipeline CRM field, and decide whether override is allowed for each record type. Then go back to the App Store and enable the integration. Full setup guide in the help centre.
Teams who email cold lists
Verification matters most where you are contacting people who have never heard from you, because that is where bad addresses do the most damage.
You run cold outbound
Deliverability is the whole game, and every bounce costs you more than the one message it fails to send.
You sell across borders
UpLead’s coverage is international, which matters if your list is not mostly US and your other tools thin out beyond it.
You want people and companies treated differently
Override is set separately for each, so firmographics can refresh freely while contact details your reps curate stay protected.
In the UpLead integration
Everything below is part of the integration, installed from the App Store.
Person enrichment
Adds missing details to people records, such as job title, phone number and company.
Company enrichment
Adds missing company information, such as industry, size and website.
Enrich people, companies, or both
You choose which record types the integration may write to at all.
Field-level mapping
Each UpLead field points at a specific Pipeline CRM field, so nothing lands somewhere you did not intend.
Custom fields supported
Create the field in Pipeline CRM first and it becomes available as a mapping target beyond the default set.
Override set per record type
Allow overwriting for companies while protecting people, or the reverse. The two settings are independent.
Fills only the gaps, by default
With override off, enrichment writes into empty fields and leaves your existing values untouched.
Test Connection before going live
Confirm the token works from inside the integration before enabling it for the team.
Override replaces what you already have
With override enabled, UpLead data replaces any existing value in a mapped field. Not merged, not kept alongside – replaced. A direct dial a rep got from the customer themselves loses to whatever the provider holds. Because override is set separately for people and for companies, the sensible position is usually asymmetric: let company firmographics refresh, since nobody on your team curates industry codes by hand, and protect person contact details, since they often do. Decide it per record type rather than switching it on wholesale. If you want to see the provider’s version before trusting it, map UpLead into new custom fields first and compare them against what you already hold. That costs a few fields and tells you what override would actually have done.
UpLead integration questions
What people ask before turning on enrichment.
Does Pipeline CRM integrate with UpLead?
Yes, and it is built in rather than a third-party connector. Install it from the Pipeline CRM App Store under Settings, then Other, and authenticate it with an UpLead API key.
Once enabled it enriches person records, company records or both, writing only into the fields you have mapped.
Where do I find my UpLead API key?
In your UpLead dashboard, open your profile settings and scroll to API Keys, then click Reveal API Key. If no key exists yet, use Generate New API Key.
It goes into the UpLead Token field on the Uplead Service tab in Pipeline CRM. You need an UpLead account with API access for the key to work.
Will it overwrite data my team entered?
Only if you allow it, and it is off by default. With override off, enrichment fills empty fields and leaves existing values alone.
Override is set separately for people and for companies, so most teams allow it for company firmographics nobody maintains by hand while protecting the contact details their reps curate.
Does it verify email addresses?
UpLead’s own description of its platform is verified contact data with real-time email verification across more than 200 countries, so verification happens on their side as part of the data they supply.
What reaches Pipeline CRM is the data itself, written into the fields you mapped. If what you want is checking the addresses already sitting in your CRM, that is a different job and Pipeline CRM has its own email validation for it. The two are often used together rather than as alternatives.
Can it fill in my own custom fields?
Yes, provided the field exists before you map. Create the custom field in Pipeline CRM and it becomes available as a mapping target alongside the defaults.
This is also the safest way to trial enrichment: map into new custom fields, compare the results against what you hold, then decide whether to point it at your primary fields.
How does UpLead compare to the alternatives?
Not something we are going to rank for you, because we have no sourced basis to compare data accuracy between providers and anyone who claims otherwise on a page like this is guessing.
What we can tell you is that the integration side is the same across ZoomInfo, FullContact and UpLead: App Store install, a token, person and company field mapping, and the same override controls. So the decision is about the data, coverage and price, which is a conversation with the providers. If you already subscribe to one of them, that is usually the right place to start.
