Constant Contact + Pipeline CRM Integration

Every Constant Contact contact lands in Pipeline CRM. Automatically.

Your email list is full of buyers your sales team never sees. This integration brings every new and updated Constant Contact contact into Pipeline CRM on a recurring schedule: name, email, company, job title, and phone, plus the lists, tags, and custom fields that tell a rep who is worth a call. Contacts are matched on email, so existing records are updated rather than duplicated. No CSV exports. No brittle Zapier zap. No manual data entry.

Overview

At a Glance

The Constant Contact integration for Pipeline CRM imports every new and updated contact from your Constant Contact account into Pipeline CRM as a person record, automatically and in one direction. Contacts are matched on email, so an existing person is updated rather than duplicated, and the marketing context that matters to sales rides along: list memberships, tags, and your Constant Contact custom fields map to Pipeline CRM fields you choose during onboarding. The integration checks your account on a recurring schedule, so your CRM keeps pace with your email list without a single CSV export. This is a fully managed service. Pipeline Connect builds and runs the connection for you for $99/month, with no Zapier subscription and no manual configuration. Built for teams whose email list grows in Constant Contact while sales works in Pipeline CRM, and who want every subscriber visible to reps without anyone exporting a file.

Why it matters

The weekly CSV ritual, or none of it

The clearest way to see what a managed integration is worth: the busywork it deletes, next to what it makes automatic.

Doing it by hand

Every list update, every week

  1. Export your contacts from Constant Contact as a CSV
  2. Trim, rename, and reorder columns to match the import template
  3. Import the file into Pipeline CRM and wait for it to process
  4. Hunt down the duplicates the import just created
  5. Repeat next week, while this week’s subscribers sit unseen

~45 minutes per import  ·  duplicate risk  ·  stale by day two

With Pipeline Connect

You do nothing. It’s already done

  • New and updated contacts arrive without an export
  • Matched on email, so existing records update instead of duplicating
  • Lists, tags, and custom fields mapped to your Pipeline CRM fields
  • Job title, company, and phone land on the person record
  • Connection monitored, and we help you reconnect if access ever changes

0 minutes  ·  no duplicates  ·  no stale lists

How it works

Three steps to your first imported contact

1

Connect

Authorize your Constant Contact account with OAuth. Pipeline CRM’s team handles the connection for you through a secure intake form.

2

Map

Your Constant Contact fields, lists, tags, and custom fields are mapped to Pipeline CRM person fields. Custom mappings on request.

3

Import

New and updated contacts flow into Pipeline CRM automatically on a recurring schedule. Live in 5 business days from signup.

What you need

What you’ll need to get started

If you’re already sending email through Constant Contact, you have everything below. Here’s how the responsibility splits between you and the Pipeline CRM team during onboarding.

You provide

  • A Constant Contact account with at least one contact list. No plan upgrade or add-on is required; the connection uses Constant Contact’s standard API access
  • Account-owner or admin access so you can authorize the OAuth connection
  • Your list choices: tell us whether to import everything or only specific lists and tags
  • ~15 minutes to authorize access through the secure intake form

We handle

  • API connection, OAuth, and automatic token refresh to keep the connection live. If access is ever revoked or a password changes, we help you reconnect
  • The polling schedule, tuned to your list volume and kept inside Constant Contact’s API limits
  • Field-mapping configuration: standard fields plus your lists, tags, and custom fields
  • End-to-end testing with live test contacts before we flip the integration on
  • Ongoing monitoring and maintenance, with fixes if Constant Contact changes anything on their side
What moves

A contact joins your list. The rest is already done

One thing has to happen: someone lands on your Constant Contact list. Everything after that is work your team no longer does.

Action

A contact is added or updated in Constant Contact

A signup form, an import, a tag change. Nothing for your team to do.

The person is created or updated for youName, email, company, job title, and phone land on the record on the next scheduled run. Existing contacts are matched on email and updated, not duplicated.
Marketing context reaches the right fieldsList memberships, tags, and your Constant Contact custom fields map to Pipeline CRM fields, set up for you during onboarding.
Sales can finally work the listReps filter and follow up on subscribers by list or tag inside Pipeline CRM, without asking marketing for an export.

Here is exactly what moves, field by field. Data flows in one direction, from Constant Contact into Pipeline CRM: the integration polls Constant Contact on a recurring schedule set during onboarding and picks up every contact created or updated since the last run. Nothing is written back to Constant Contact. Field mapping is set up by the Pipeline CRM team during your 5-business-day onboarding; custom mappings are available on request.

Who it’s for

Who runs Constant Contact contacts into Pipeline CRM

Scenario 1: Home-services firm whose email list grows faster than its CRM

The situation: A 15-person home-remodeling company collects emails through Constant Contact signup forms on its website and at trade shows. The list adds 80 to 120 contacts a month, and some of them tag themselves “requested a consultation”. Sales works in Pipeline CRM and never sees any of it until someone remembers to export a CSV, usually weeks later.

With Pipeline Connect: Every new subscriber lands in Pipeline CRM as a person on the next scheduled run, with their lists and tags mapped to fields reps can filter on. The “requested a consultation” segment becomes a working call list inside the CRM instead of a spreadsheet nobody opens.

Verdict: If your email list captures buying signals your reps never see, Pipeline Connect puts every subscriber in front of sales for $99/month.

Scenario 2: Distributor gluing two systems together with weekly CSV exports

The situation: A 40-person wholesale distributor keeps its newsletter audience in Constant Contact and its accounts in Pipeline CRM. An ops coordinator exports the full contact list every Friday, reworks the columns, and imports it into Pipeline CRM. The import regularly creates duplicates, and any contact added on a Monday is invisible to sales until the following week.

With Pipeline Connect: The export-import routine disappears. New and updated contacts flow into Pipeline CRM automatically on a recurring schedule, matched on email so the same person is never created twice. The coordinator gets Friday afternoons back, and the CRM stops running a week behind the email list.

Verdict: If someone on your team owns a recurring export-import chore, Pipeline Connect deletes it for $99/month and removes the duplicate cleanup that comes with it.

Scenario 3: Replacing a broken Zapier zap between Constant Contact and the CRM

The situation: A 30-person staffing agency wired Constant Contact to Pipeline CRM with a Zapier zap. It silently stops working when a list is renamed or a field changes, and nobody notices until a rep asks why the newest candidates aren’t in the CRM. The Zapier subscription runs about $50/month for this one workflow, and each breakage costs the ops lead an afternoon.

With Pipeline Connect: Pipeline CRM’s team sets up and maintains the integration. Our team monitors the connection and handles fixes, so nobody on your side has to troubleshoot it. Total cost: $99/month with $0 setup fee.

Verdict: If you’re paying for Zapier and still losing contacts when it breaks, Pipeline Connect costs about $50 more per month but includes setup, monitoring, maintenance, and 4 more integrations of your choosing.

The bottom line
~45 min
saved on every list import

Your Constant Contact lists stay current in Pipeline CRM without another export and import ritual.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find what you need? Contact our team.

How does the Constant Contact integration work?

The integration connects to your Constant Contact account through its official API using OAuth and checks for new and updated contacts on a recurring schedule. Each contact it finds is imported into Pipeline CRM as a person record: email, first and last name, company, job title, and phone on the standard fields, with list memberships, tags, and your Constant Contact custom fields mapped to Pipeline CRM fields chosen during onboarding. Contacts are matched on email, so an existing person is updated rather than duplicated. Data moves in one direction, from Constant Contact into Pipeline CRM.

Does the integration send Pipeline CRM changes back to Constant Contact?

No. This integration moves data in one direction only: contacts flow from Constant Contact into Pipeline CRM. Edits you make in Pipeline CRM are not written back to your Constant Contact lists, so your email audience is never touched by CRM activity. If your workflow needs data moving in both directions, that is scoped as a custom project. Tell our team during your sales call and we will quote it separately.

How quickly do new contacts show up in Pipeline CRM?

On the recurring schedule we configure with you during onboarding. Constant Contact restricts its event-push webhooks to members of its Technology Partner program, so this integration checks your account for new and updated contacts on a schedule instead of receiving pushes. We tune the schedule to your list volume and keep it inside Constant Contact’s API limits (10,000 requests per day per app), so a new subscriber typically appears in Pipeline CRM within the same working day, often much sooner.

Do I need a specific Constant Contact plan?

No plan upgrade is required. The integration uses Constant Contact’s standard API, which is available with an ordinary Constant Contact account, and you authorize access with OAuth so we never see or store your password. You will need account-owner or admin access to complete the authorization, and about 15 minutes to do it through our secure intake form. Everything else is handled by the Pipeline CRM team.

How long does setup take?

Pipeline Connect goes live in 5 business days from the moment you authorize your Constant Contact account through our secure intake form. You don’t configure anything yourself. Our team handles the full setup: connecting your account, choosing which lists and tags import, mapping standard and custom fields, configuring deduplication, setting the polling schedule, and end-to-end testing with live test contacts. Most customers see their first imported contacts within a week of signing up.

How is this different from Zapier or a manual CSV import?

A CSV import is a chore you repeat forever: export, rework columns, import, clean up duplicates, and the data is stale the moment you finish. Zapier automates part of that but puts the setup, maintenance, and debugging burden on you, and zaps fail silently when a list or field changes. Pipeline Connect is fully managed for $99/month. Our team builds the integration to a tested template, maps it specifically to how Pipeline CRM handles people and custom fields, monitors it, and fixes it if it breaks. There is no Zapier subscription, no zap to maintain, and no third-party dashboard to log into. One bill from Pipeline CRM covers everything. If you have a developer and prefer to build against our public API, that path is available too.

Is my data secure?

Yes. You authorize the connection with OAuth through a secure intake form, so we never see or store your Constant Contact password, and access tokens are stored with industry-standard secrets management. The integration runs on isolated infrastructure per customer. Contact data flows directly from Constant Contact into your Pipeline CRM account with no third-party data warehouse in between. If you ever want to revoke access, you can do it from your Constant Contact account at any time, and we help you reconnect when you’re ready.
